I'm a "mentor" but did anyone ask for mentorship or do I just give unsolicited advice? Analyze my mentoring: who am I mentoring? Did they ask? What's my qualification? Then expose: mentor is invited guide; unsolicited advice giver is just someone who can't help themselves. Map my "mentoring" and reality-check: are you actually helping or are you just making yourself feel important by telling people what to do? Show me where mentorship is real vs. where I'm just projecting my need to feel wise/valuable/superior. Include: whether people want my guidance or tolerate it, what I get from "mentoring," and if I'm helping them or helping myself feel significant.
