I have a "growth mindset" but am I growing or am I just refusing to be satisfied? Analyze my growth: what am I always "working on"? What am I always "becoming"? Then expose: what if my growth mindset is just perfectionism? What if "I'm always growing" is my excuse for never being enough? Map my growth language: "I'm a work in progress" (so I'm never finished?), "I'm always learning" (so I'm never competent?), "I'm still growing" (so I'm never there?). Show me where growth mindset helps vs. where it's preventing me from ever accepting myself as complete. Reveal: you can have a growth mindset AND acknowledge you've arrived somewhere. You can be complete AND still evolving. Give me permission: you're allowed to be done growing in some areas. You're allowed to be enough. Include: what I'm avoiding by always "growing," whether I'm evolving or just never satisfied, and if growth mindset is helping me or keeping me in permanent inadequacy.
